Zion 8 is made up of Christian believers from different walks of life. It is an Outreach Ministry and our primary purpose is to win souls for Christ.
In obedience to the great commission Jesus gave His disciples in Matthew 28:19, we have dedicated our lives to this cause. This ministry was started with this in mind and we are committed to “seek and save the lost for Jesus”. This is the vision of the church and every project that we undertake inside or outside the church is geared towards seeking and saving the lost for Jesus. The ministry of Zion 8 encourages young people to realistically assess and develop their talents despite any social or economic obstacles. The ministry is also an evangelical church and therefore every member of this church is part of the evangelical team. However, when invited to do outreach work, specifically outside of Cape Town, an outreach - team will be selected. This team comprises of preachers, musicians, singers, counselors, intercessors and witnesses, and is made up of members of all departments of the church.
In addition, Zion 8 was intended to
be a resource center for Evangelism.
People with the same vision and desire
are welcome to partake in all programs
and training, even if they are not members
of the church. We believe in equipping
ourselves before embarking on any
outreach program. Prayer and fasting is
part of our preparation for outreach and
precedes every project. Currently we are
busy with in-house training on the spiritual
and practical aspects of evangelism.
As a part of the Levitical priesthood of Christ’s church, we are aware of the function that music and song plays in the ministering of the gospel. However we also understand that this is not the only way to minister the gospel. Therefore we believe in the importance of door-to-door knocking, tract drives and hand-outs, visiting hospitals, visiting children’s homes (orphaned and delinquent), feeding the hungry, etc.. This is where all departments in the church play their part.
Our Street Evangelism Outreach is very effective, as anointed musicians attract crowds at Open-air services. Just like at our Tent Crusades, an anointed minister preaches the gospel in public, and leads many souls to Christ. Counselors obtain initial data from the new converts for our Follow-Up Team. Seasoned soul-winners then schedule visits and encourage the new converts to a closer walk with the Lord. The Follow-Up Team also advises them to attend a Bible teaching church to enhance their spiritual growth.
Youth Rallies are always exciting. A Youth Rally is a combination of Concert and Revival. Young gospel musicians attract large crowds of young people of all races and from various Denominations. As an anointed minister preaches a short but powerful sermon, many come forward to give their hearts to Jesus. Counselors, made up of local Pastors & ministers gather important data for our Follow-Up Team.
